A Nevada man faces five charges in Hancock County for allegedly scamming victims by selling them headstones that never arrived.

Gary W. Bowsher, 59, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, was indicted by a grand jury this week on four counts of theft from a person in a protected class, a fourth-degree felony, and one count of petty theft, a first-degree misdemeanor.

Bowsher allegedly took money from five victims, four of whom are elderly. The victims live in Findlay, Pandora and Holland, Ohio.

He allegedly scammed the victims into writing him checks “for headstones that never showed up,” Hancock County Prosecutor Phil Riegle said.

In other indictments, Christopher R. Anders, 30, of Findlay, is charged with two counts of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony; two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; and three counts of burglary, a third-degree felony.

On Nov. 2, Anders allegedly broke into Treadway Used Cars in Findlay and took a 2004 Cadillac truck.

He allegedly took items from three residences on Ash Avenue, Winfield Avenue and Vincent Street in Findlay on Nov. 5.

Anders allegedly returned to Treadway Used Cars on Nov. 16., taking a 2008 Cadillac truck.

Brian A. Steinmeyer, 27, and William J. Zechman II, 37, both of Findlay, are each charged with breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony.

They allegedly broke into Taylor Hyundai in Findlay intending to commit theft on Dec. 11.

They allegedly planned to steal items from the wash bay area, Riegle said, but were “startled” by someone and ran off instead.

Jalisa D. Davenport, 27, of Findlay, is charged with theft, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly taking merchandise from Kohl’s. She allegedly took more than $1,000 worth of clothing, Riegle said.

Shannon A. Cleveland, 26, of Findlay, is charged with safecracking, a fourth-degree felony. She was allegedly trying to steal money from a safe at a business, Riegle said.

Scotty L. Moyers, also known as Scott L. Moyers, 35, of Findlay, is charged with forgery, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly trying to pass off what he knew was a forged $100 bill, Riegle said.

Jodee A. Figueroa, 42, of Findlay, is charged with theft of drugs, a fourth-degree felony, for allegedly stealing the drug gabapentin from a Dunkirk resident.

Tyrees J. Morris, 28, address unknown, is charged with vandalism, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly damaged a door on a vehicle owned by the City of Findlay, Riegle said.

The rest of the indictments are drug-related.

Rachel R. Lambrite, 37, of Findlay, is charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. She allegedly possessed oxycodone in Findlay on Aug. 2.

Ramon F. Sierra, 27, of Findlay, is charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly having oxycodone in Findlay on Oct. 26.

Brandon L. Stevens, 29, of Forest, faces two drug charges: aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, and possession of heroin, a fourth-degree felony. He allegedly possessed oxycodone and between one and five grams of heroin in Findlay on Oct. 24.

Ryan W.L. Hayman, 26, of Tiffin, is charged with possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing less than one gram of heroin in Findlay on Aug. 17.

Matthew J. Lambert, 38, of Bucyrus, is charged with possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly possessed less than one gram of heroin in Findlay on Aug. 14.

Kathryne A. Lynch, 29, of Tiffin, is charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly possessing methamphetamine in Findlay on Sept. 5.

Billie Jo Duncan, 46, of Findlay, faces a fifth-degree felony charge for possession of cocaine. Duncan allegedly had the drug in Findlay on Sept. 18.

Robert R. Like, 60, of Findlay, is charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. He allegedly possessed cocaine in Findlay on Sept. 14.

Charles Kominek, 37, of Rudolph, is also charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. He is also charged with possession of criminal tools, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly concealing the cocaine in a flashlight, Riegle said. This allegedly happened in Findlay on Sept. 17.

Nathaniel Crutcher, 54, of Findlay, is charged with possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony, for allegedly having the drug in Findlay on Sept. 21.
