Findlay Fire Department officials are urging residents to keep fire hydrants clear of snow.

With a heavy snowfall in the forecast, fire officials are reminding residents and contractors not to plow or pile snow within the vicinity of fire hydrants.

Officials suggest that an area of three feet around a hydrant should be kept clear.

According to fire officials, inaccessible fire hydrants can hamper firefighting efforts and can pose a danger to the property owner and neighboring residences.
