McCOMB — McComb Council on Monday gave the second of three readings to an ordinance that would rescind a parking restriction on a segment of downtown McComb.

The measure will require another reading before Village Council can vote on the ordinance.

Currently a two-hour parking limit is in effect on a portion of Main Street in the village.

Separately, Village Council reported a recycling service through Litter Landing will be reintroduced on a trial basis near the village street garage on Maple Street.

Starting next month, the bins will be made available on the first Tuesday of each month and then picked up the following Thursday.

The service will accept certain recyclable items, such as designated plastics, aluminum cans and steel cans.

Glass won’t be accepted.

In other business, council:

• Held a closed executive session for the purpose of discussing personnel matters.

• Thanked municipal crews for their recent effort to clear snow from streets.

• Handled complaints of junk on properties.
