A Findlay man was injured in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday in Liberty Township, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony Heistand, 23, was driving south on Hancock County 9 in a Chevrolet vehicle when he lost control and went off the east side of the road, south of Hancock County 313, the sheriff’s office said. The vehicle struck a utility pole and rolled several times before coming to rest in a field.

The sheriff’s office responded at 3:14 a.m. Heistand had already been taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital in a private vehicle, the sheriff’s office reported.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash, the sheriff’s office said. Heistand was cited for failure to control and for operating a vehicle while impaired.

Dick’s Towing and Hancock-Wood Electric Cooperative assisted the sheriff’s office at the accident scene.
