Customers of G.I.B.S. Sanitation Services, based in Fostoria, were left holding the bag for the past two weeks when the trash removal company closed without notice.
In a statement issued by the company Wednesday, general manager Larry Lundy apologized.
Lundy said he has been unable to find a buyer for the business during the past year, and had no choice but to close it due to family health issues.
The City of Findlay is asking that residents not leave trash at the curb for an extended amount of time.
The nationwide trash disposal service, Waste Management, based in Houston, Texas, offers “orange bag” pickup in Findlay. Waste Management will then pick up the orange bags.
Litter Landing, 1720 E. Sandusky St., takes recyclables.
