Findlay City Planning Commission on Thursday approved plans for a nine-building northward extension of the Horizon apartments, off Technology Drive on the city’s north end.

Construction is expected to start this year. The nine buildings will have a total of 70 units.

Separately, Millstream Area Credit Union won approval of plans for a new office building at 1650 Fostoria Ave, east of Wells Fargo Advisors. Construction of the 4,200-square-foot building is expected to start in May and be completed by October, said Joshua Reams, executive vice president of Millstream Area Credit Union. Eight to 10 people will be employed there, and some of them will be new employees.

Separately, CrossFit M2 fitness center, formerly at 2017 Broad Ave., won approval to use an existing building at 750 Western Ave. Planning commission approval was needed because the site is zoned for industrial use, which does not list a fitness center as a permitted use.

However, the city code allows the planning commission to grant approval of a “conditional use” of a site which is “less intensive” and “non-objectionable.”

CrossFit M2 offers classes for people to burn fat and build lean muscle, said owner Michael Matthes.
