NORTH BALTIMORE — A pay hike ordinance for North Baltimore municipal workers was considered Tuesday by Village Council.
The first of three readings was given to the ordinance, but changes are expected to be made before a final vote is cast, as changes will be made to the current proposal, according to village officials.
A recent Finance Committee meeting held to discuss the issue ended in frustration, with some village representatives exiting the meeting.
“There was not a lot accomplished,” Councilwoman Leisa Zeigler said Monday of that committee meeting.
Separately, council will hire an engineering firm to study the village water utility services.
Jones & Henry Engineering will be paid a maximum of $10,000 for the work.
Separately, council will purchase 46 LED light bulbs for the decorative street light fixtures along the Ohio 18 roundabout.
A cost limit was set at $5,100.
In other business, council:
• Held a closed executive session for the purpose of discussing pending litigation.
• Will prepare plans to provide a pickleball court at the village park.
