Two Fostoria hotels are facing numerous fire, health and zoning violations.

Members of the Fostoria Fire Division, the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Fostoria Police Division, the Seneca County Health District and the Fostoria Zoning Department conducted inspections at the Fostoria Motel, 345 W. Lytle St., and Country Club Inn and Suites, 737 Independence Road, on Wednesday based on public complaints.

According to the Fostoria fire department, numerous fire code violations were discovered at both locations, including structural problems, inoperable smoke detectors, lack of smoke detectors, electrical issues and inoperable heaters.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office gave the property owners a reasonable timetable to bring these violations into compliance or face citations which could be issued with fines up to $1,000 per day.
