MCCOMB — An oily substance was spilled on a stretch of Ohio 186 heading into McComb Monday evening, and officials are urging drivers to drive cautiously there.
McComb Fire Chief Anthony Stateler said the fire department was contacted by motorists at 5:54 p.m. about an oily substance spilled on Ohio 186 between Hancock County 97 and the intersection with Ohio 613.
The source of the spill is uncertain but would appear to be from a vehicle.
Stateler said the roadway is “extremely slick” and motorists should be careful while driving on that section of the road for the next day or two.
He said the Ohio Department of Transportation has been contacted to bring sand to be placed on the roadway.
