CAREY — Two people were hurt in a one-car accident on County Highway 99, north of Carey, early Sunday morning, according to the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office reported that Justine McKinley, 19, of Kenton, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic north on County Highway 99 near County Highway 16 at 1:26 a.m. when she failed to negotiate a curve. The car went off the right side of the roadway, scraping a utility pole and hitting several concrete blocks.

A passenger in the car, Aidan Loveridge, 19, of Forest, was taken by Carey EMS to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the sheriff’s office reported. McKinley was treated at the scene for minor injuries. She was cited for failure to control, according to the sheriff’s office.
