The Democratic candidates for Findlay mayor and City Council will participate in a town hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at The Social, 330 S. Blanchard St.

Mayoral candidate Chad Benschoter and Abby Hefflinger, who is seeking an at-large seat on Findlay Council, will discuss their platforms and then open the floor to audience questions, concerns or comments.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Benschoter is challenging Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn in the November election. Muryn was appointed mayor in February by the Hancock County Republican Central Committee to serve out the term of former Mayor Lydia Mihalik. Mihalik resigned after she was named to a position in state government in January.

Hefflinger is trying to unseat one of the city’s three incumbent, at-large councilmen: Jeff Wobser, Tom Shindledecker and Grant Russel. The top three vote-getters in the general election will take office.
