Candidates in two contested Findlay races in the November general election have agreed to participate in forums being hosted by The Courier, WFIN radio and University of Findlay Television.

The events will feature both Republican and Democratic candidates for three at-large Findlay Council seats, and for Findlay mayor.

Moderating the events will be Steve Dillon, editorial page editor of The Courier, and Chris Oaks, host of the “Good Mornings” talk show on WFIN. Both forums are free and open to the public.

The forum featuring candidates for the at-large council seats will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Ritz Auditorium, located at the University of Findlay in the “Old Main” building.

At-large Councilmen Jeff Wobser, Tom Shindledecker and Grant Russel, all Republicans, are being challenged by Democrat Abigail Hefflinger for three open seats on Findlay City Council. The council posts will go to the three top vote-getters.

The second forum will focus on the mayor’s race, where appointed Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn, a Republican, is being challenged by Democrat Chad Benschoter.

The mayoral forum will be held at 5 p.m. Oct. 9 in Ritz Auditorium.

The forums will be broadcast live on WFIN at 1330 AM and 95.5 FM. Video should be live on UFTV’s YouTube channel: UFTV Productions.
