Two Lima residents were arrested after leading Findlay police on a chase in the city Saturday night.
Ontra L. Brooks, 51, the driver, was taken to the Hancock County jail on charges of petty theft and failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer.
Kyra Bennett, 30, a passenger, was also arrested on petty theft charges, and was released on an own recognizance bond.
Findlay police said a theft was reported at the Kohl’s department store, 2310 Tiffin Ave., at 9:34 p.m. Saturday. The suspects were described as a black male and black female, who fled from the store in a white four-door Lincoln, traveling west on Tiffin Avenue.
Police found that vehicle in the 900 block of Tiffin Avenue and attempted to stop it, but the driver fled.
The Lincoln turned north onto G Street, then drove on Walnut Street, through an alley and onto Lynn Street. The driver then turned off the vehicle lights and pulled into a backyard at 526 G St., where the couple was arrested, police reported.
