Two Arlington residents were injured when their vehicles collided at the intersection of Jackson Township roads 179 and 168 Wednesday afternoon.
The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office reported that James L. Wagner, 75, and Angela Walker-Vollmar, 25, were both injured in the 1:15 p.m. crash. Both drivers were taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco EMS with unknown injuries.
According to deputies, Wagner was headed east on Township Road 168, approaching the intersection of Township Road 179. He entered the intersection, failing to yield to Walker-Vollmar, who was driving north on Township Road 179.
The Wagner vehicle struck the driver’s side of Walker-Vollmar’s vehicle, sending it off the right side of the roadway into a yard where the vehicle went sideways and rolled over three times before coming to a stop on its wheels against a barn. The Wagner vehicle went off the right side of the roadway into a yard.
Wagner was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign. Assisting at the scene were the Arlington Fire Department, B&G and Franks Towing.
