Findlay High School music students were selected to perform with the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 3 Honors Band at the Honors Festival Sunday at Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Van Wert.

Selected were Jordan Bechtol, senior, trumpet; Francesca Bejarano, senior, clarinet; Jackson Farmer, junior, percussion; Leslii Silvius, junior, alto saxophone and Elizabeth Laird, sophomore, alto saxophone.

The District 3 Honor Band is an auditioned ensemble comprised of students from eight west central Ohio counties.

It was directed by Andrew Boyson Jr., and the concert featured the premiere of “Song for My Parents,” an original work by Boyson that was commissioned by the educators of District 3.
