BLUFFTON — The Bluffton board of education has approved the hiring of Jeff Richards as its new head football coach.

Richards replaces Kyle Cutnaw, who was 10-10 in two seasons as head coach, including a 7-3 mark in 2015.

Richards, a 2004 graduate of Bluffton High School and 2008 Bluffton University grad, was an all-conference selection at center for both the Pirates and Beavers.

Richards was also a junior high wrestling coach at Bluffton from 2005-10 and was most recently an assistant coach at Louisville Dupont Manual in Kentucky.

Richards currently teaches third grade at Lima Bath and is the school’s head wrestling coach.
