VANLUE — Leipsic jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first inning and cruised to a 12-0 win over Vanlue in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Tuesday.

Justin Ellerbrock smacked two singles and drove in a pair of runs for the Vikings (17-4, 8-2 BVC), who jump back into postseason play today when they take on No. 2-ranked Arlington (22-2) in a Division IV district semifinal at Ottawa Memorial Park.

Chris Basinger pitched a five-inning, two-hit shutout to get the win.

Troy Ward and Quin Creager singled for Vanlue (1-16, 0-11 BVC).

FOSTORIA — St. Wendelin never trailed en route to topping Arcadia 8-3 in a nonleague game Tuesday.

Brayden Thomas backed the Mohawks (4-13) with a triple and three RBIs, while Ryan Nicholson and winning pitcher Dylan Sheets each had two singles.

Sheets struck out seven, walked one and didn’t allow an earned run in seven innings as the Mohawks committed five errors.

Eli Palmer and Trevor Brubaker each had two hits for the Redskins (11-11).

Pickerel went six innings, allowing one earned run on two hits and two walks with four strikeouts for the Eagles (18-4, 9-3 NBC).

Tayte Lentz took the loss, allowing three runs, one earned, on two hits and three walks with four strikeouts in six innings.

Tyler Stone had an RBI single for the Royals (16-7, 8-4).
