VAN BUREN — Van Buren more than tripled Upper Sandusky’s shots on goal and buried five of them in beating the Rams 5-2 in Tuesday’s North Central Ohio Soccer Association girls soccer match.
Black Knight freshman Eve Masters scored twice including her second goal just 45 seconds in to the second half. Hannah Missler, Mady Parker and Grace Hoerig also scored for Van Buren (2-2-1, 1-0 NCOSA) as it notched its first conference win of the season.
Madison Thompson and Taylor Norris scored for Upper Sandusky (2-3-1, 1-1), while Cortni Brown made 10 saves.

ELMORE — Liberty-Benton’s girls remained unbeaten with its 2-0 shutout of Woodmore in a nonleague soccer match.
The Eagles, who improved to 5-0-1, were led by Savanah Richards and Alexis Rickenbacher who each scored a goal. Maya Rickle assisted on both goals and Sophie Aschemeier saved all four of Woodmore’s shots on goal.
Phoebe Jackson made 13 saves for the Wildcats (1-2-0).

CONTINENTAL — Continental’s Alex Hoeffel racked up four goals as the Pirates opened Putnam County League play with a 5-2 win over Fort Jennings.
Riley Fenter added a goal for the Pirates (3-2, 1-0 PCL). Angel Brzozowski had six saves in goal.
Marissa Krietemeyer scored and added an assist, while Madison Neidert also scored for Fort Jennings (2-3, 0-1 PCL).

RAWSON — Ottoville’s Kasey Knippen had a goal and an assist while Lyndsey Schweller also scored as the Big Green edged Cory-Rawson 2-1 in nonleague action.
Megan Burgei added an assist for the Big Green (3-0-1).
Zoe Chisholm scored off a pass from Hayley Waltz for the Hornets (1-4). Hannah Bixler stopped 10 shots in goal.

BLUFFTON — Kayla White and Laykin Garmatter each scored hat tricks for Bluffton on Tuesday as the Pirates topped Lincolnview 9-1 in Northwest Conference action to earn their first win of the season.
Bluffton, which improved to 1-1-2 overall and 1-0 in the NWC, was led by White’s four goals, while Laykin scored thrice and Brinkley Garmatter added two goals. Kim Gordon chipped in an assist and Hannah Yost made three saves in goal for the Pirates.
Lincolnview fell to 1-5 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
