KALIDA — Three players had two goals Tuesday as Kalida’s boys soccer team began Division III postseason play with an 8-0 victory over Spencerville.
Gabe Hovest, Trent Gusinger and Kevin Hamburg each tallied two goals for the Wildcats (9-5-3). Carter Moore and Noha Hermiller also scored.
Kalida will host New Knoxville, a 1-0 winner Tuesday over Fort Jennings, at 5 p.m. Saturday in a district quarterfinal game.
Spencerville ends its season at 0-13.
MILLER CITY 2
MILLER CITY — Miller City scored once in each half to double up and defeat Lincolnview 2-1 in Tuesday’s Division III district boys soccer opener.
The Wildcats (3-14) advanced to meet Bluffton in Saturday’s 12 p.m. district quarterfinal at Bluffton.
Miller City’s Jeremy Demuth scored at the 13:09 mark of the first half while Aiden Searfoss struck with 2:39 on the clock in the second half.
Kyle Wallis had the lone goal for the Lancers (3-14).

ADA — Ada’s Chris Reyes pumped in three goals and goalie Ace Gamble pitched a shutout as the Bulldogs blanked Willard 4-0 on Tuesday in a Division III boys soccer tournament match at War Memorial Stadium.
Jon Allen had Ada’s fourth goal and Miguel Jordan and Noah Pinkney were credited with assists. Gamble made six saves for the Bulldogs (12-5-0), who will face No. 2-seeded Mansfield Christian (10-5-1) at 7 p.m. on Saturday in a district quarterfinal contest in Mansfield.

MANSFIELD ST. PETER’S 2
MOUNT BLANCHARD — Mansfield St. Peter’s forward Alec Baldasare scored one goal midway through the first half and another a minute into the second to give the Spartans the edge they needed to beat Riverdale 2-1 on Tuesday in a Division III district boys soccer match.
Riverdale’s Coby Miller, on an assist from Tyler Hart, scored just seconds after Baldasare’s second goal. But the Falcons, outshot 8-5 in the match, were shut out the rest of the way, ending their season at 5-11-1.
St. Pete, the No. 8-seed, will now face top-seeded Van Buren (14-1-1) at 5 p.m. on Saturday in the district quarterfinals.
Ethan Shane stopped six shots in goal for Riverdale.
