MANSFIELD — Zoe Horne scored off a free kick with 18 minutes remaining to propel Van Buren to a 2-1 Division III district quarterfinal victory over Mansfield Christian on Wednesday.
The No. 7-seeded Black Knights (9-5-3) advance to meet top-seeded Riverdale (12-2-3) in the district semifinals 5 p.m. Wednesday at Findlay High School.
Van Buren’s Hannah Missler scored the game’s first goal at the 11:52 mark in the first half but Mansfield Christian (14-4) tied it up on an Audrey Martin goal just 28 seconds into the second half.

LIBERTY CENTER — Ottawa-Glandorf built up 3-0 lead but had to hold on to defeat Liberty Center 3-2 in Wednesday’s Division III girls soccer district quarterfinal.
The Titans (5-9-4) advanced to meet Liberty-Benton (12-3-2) in the district semifinals 7 p.m. Wednesday at Findlay High School.
Kelsey Erford, Caitlin Bockrath and Lauren Siefker each scored for O-G before Constance Roell put in both Liberty Center (11-4-2) goals — the last with 24:18 remaining.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale removed all doubt by scoring five second-half goals to roll over Allen East 7-0 in Wednesday’s Division III district quarterfinal girls soccer match.
The top-seeded Falcons (12-2-3) advanced to meet Van Buren (9-5-3) in the district semifinals 5 p.m. Wednesday at Findlay High.
Gabi Rodriguez and Reygan Frey each scored twice for Riverdale while Danielle Searfoss, Haley Frey and Brandi Borkosky also had a goal.
Rodriguez also had an assist to tie the Riverdale record with her 16th of the season.
The Mustangs, who managed one shot on goal, finished their season at 8-9-1.

Savanah Richards scored two goals and assisted on two others and Liberty-Benton notched a school-record 11th shutout of the season while defeating Ashland Crestview 5-0 on Wednesday in a Division III girls soccer district quarterfinal.
Goalkeeper Sophie Aschemeier made six saves as the Eagles recorded the shutout, improved their record to 12-3-2 and advanced to face Ottawa-Glandorf (5-9-4) in a 7 p.m. district semifinal next Wednesday at Findlay High School.
Taylor Young, Maya Rickle and Kacey Durliat joined Richards in scoring for L-B, while Maddie Parmelee, Chloe Kin and Alexis Rickenbacher each had an assist.
The Eagles outshot Crestview 19-6. Dakota Fletcher made 14 saves for the Cougars (10-7).

CONTINENTAL — Alex Hoeffel scored two goals on Wednesday and Continental goal keeper Angel Brzozowski pitched a shutout in the Pirates’ 3-0 win over Fort Jennings in a Division III district quarterfinal girls soccer matchup.
Maddie Burke also scored for Continental (9-8-1), which will face top-seeded Kalida on Oct. 25 in the district semifinals at Ottoville. Kalida won the regular-season match between the Putnam County League schools, 4-0.
Fort Jennings had a slight edge in shots, but Brzozowski came up with seven saves. Vanessa Wallenhorst also had seven saves for Fort Jennings (5-12-1).

KALIDA — Rachael Basinger and Hannah Warn scored a goal apiece as Kalida blanked Miller City 2-0 on Wednesday in a Division III district quarterfinal girls soccer match.
Goalkeeper Bailey White needed to make only two saves as Kalida outshot Miller City 22-2 and advanced to take on Continental (9-8-1) next Wednesday in a district semifinal at Ottoville.
Natalie Koenig made 19 saves for Miller City, which finished its season with a 5-12-1 record.

OTTOVILLE — Lima Central Catholic edged Ottoville 1-0 on the Big Green’s home pitch in a Division III girls soccer district quarterfinal match.
The Thunderbirds (10-6-2) advance to play second-seeded Coldwater (9-6-2) in Wednesday’s 7 p.m. district semifinal at Ottoville.
Ottoville finished the season at 12-3-2.
