ADA — Ohio Northern’s 12-game winning streak and No. 10 national ranking were on the line Wednesday. But the Polar Bears rallied to catch Baldwin Wallace in the fourth quarter, then beat the Yellow Jackets 9-3 in overtime to earn a 61-55 Ohio Athletic Conference women’s basketball victory.
Amy Bullimore scored 22 points, including a game-tying jumper late in regulation that forced overtime. She also grabbed 11 rebounds for ONU, now 13-1 overall and 7-0 in OAC play. Jenna Dirksen added 16 points and Lindsey Black 12 for the Polar Bears.
Hannah Fecht scored 12 points and Riley Schill had 10 for Baldwin Wallace (8-6, 4-3).

DEFIANCE — Bluffton University’s Kaycee Rowe surpassed 1,000 career points with a 17-point effort on Wednesday in leading the Beavers to a 77-62 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Defiance College.
J.T. Mills led Bluffton (11-3, 6-1 HCAC) with 19 points and Abigail O’Donnell added 10. Rowe also pulled down a game-high 16 rebounds.
Danielle Carruthers scored 18 points and Lauren Rogers had 16 for Defiance (4-10, 2-5 HCAC).

Men’s Basketball
BEREA — Ohio Northern built a 44-31 halftime lead and held on to knock off Baldwin Wallace 80-73 on Wednesday in an Ohio Athletic Conference men’s basketball matchup.
Nate Burger scored 27 points and Ryan Bruns had 23 as the senior point guard and the 6-foot-8 junior center combined for 50 of ONU’s 80 total points. Travis Feitshans added 13 points for the Polar Bears (10-4, 5-2 OAC).
Cam Kuhn scored 27 points and Jake Fetheroff added 19 for BW (11-3, 5-2 OAC).

BLUFFTON — Andrew Renner’s 3-pointer capped a 14-0 second half run that blew the game wide open and powered Bluffton to a 75-47 win over Defiance College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball game.
Five players scored in double figures for BU (6-8, 3-4 HCAC), with Kevin Christie scoring 18 points, Arlington grad Andrew Hunter 12, Aaron Rich 11 and Renner and Dezman Brown 10 each.
Randall Akins led Defiance (3-11, 2-5 HCAC) with 10 points.
