For the second straight week, University of Findlay throwers and Liberty-Benton graduates Alex DeVincentis and Austin Combs have been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Field Event Athletes of the Week.
Competing in the elite weight throw in last week’s home meet Combs launched a throw of 70-13/4 which is a personal best. That distance also set a conference record, breaking his own record from a week ago, and is the second-best throw in the country this season.
DeVincentis took part in the women’s elite shot put and recorded a throw of 49-93/4 which set a league record. The provisional qualifying throw ranks sixth in the country.
