Quentin Weddell and Taylor Adams were the top award winners as the Findlay Area Golf Association held its banquet in conjunction with the organization’s season-ending tournament Wednesday at Findlay Country Club.

Weddell and Adams were the winners of the boys and girls Doc Spragg Player of the Year Awards respectively. The award named in memory of the late FAGA founder Dr. Charles Spragg, goes to the top boys and girls players that serve as good examples to their peers.


Ross Wenzinger and Jordan Bucher were FAGA’s other top award recipients. They were selected to receive the Walter L. Whithaus Sportsmanship Award.

Wenzinger, meanwhile, shot a 74 at Findlay Country Club to top the boys 16-18 division as he finished five shots better than runner up Noah Frederick. Luke Sunderman captured third place with an 81.

In the boys 14-15 division, Ethan Lammers also carded a 74 to earn first place. Justy VonLehmden (81) and Grant Lane (82) were next in the standings.

Weston Heitkamp (102), Mason Greenawalt (106) and Ben Mayle (107) were the top players in the boys 12-13 division and Sam Swisher (44), Blake Hartman (49) and Ryan Montgomery (50) posted the top scores in the boys 10-11 division.

Adams won the girls 14-18 division as she fired a 93 to top second-place Kiana Robinson by four strokes. Olivia Sexton placed third with a score of 100.

Marissa Cline captured the girls 10-13 division with a 51. Jenna Brown (61) and Lindsay Clarke (71) also competed.
