Madison Mlsna and Libby Fetterman both scored a second-half goal in leading Findlay past Springfield 2-0 in Saturday’s nonleague season opener at Elmer Graham Stadium.

The win was Jon Hayfield’s first as head coach of the Trojans (1-0).

Morgan Kirk and Sarah Gerardi added assists for Findlay — which outshot the Blue Devils 10-0. Chase Ebanks led FHS defensively with 11 intercepts. Catlin Fraley had nine intercepts and Ellie Zawisza led with four steals.

Savannah Kirk made eight saves for Springfield (0-1).

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Haley Frey’s goal with 1:39 to play was the second of two unanswered goals for Riverdale as the Falcons rallied to beat St. Marys Memorial 2-1.

Brandi Borkosky assisted Frey’s go-ahead goal, while Alesha Martin’s pass set up Paige Rothlisberger for Riverdale’s (2-0) first score.

Katy Miller made 11 saves for the Falcons.

UPPER SANDUSKY — It was a record-setting day for Upper Sandusky’s girls soccer team as the Rams rolled to a 9-0 nonconference win against Clyde.

Taylor Norris scored five goals for the Rams (1-0) as she tied the school record for goals in a game set by Megan Hensel in 2017.

Audrey Boes tied her own record for assists in a game as she recorded four.

Jenna Rodriguez netted two goals and Boes and Lindsay Weininger each added single tallies.

Alivia Oney had three assists and Grace Vent had one.

The Rams outshot the Fliers 26-2. Upper Sandusky goalkeeper Miranda McDonnell had two saves.

Clyde’s Kendall Bailey had 17 saves.
