After a scoreless first half, Anthony Wayne’s offense came to life in the second half for a 4-0 nonconference girls soccer win against Findlay High School on Saturday at Elmer Graham Stadium.

Chances for the Trojans (2-1-2) were few and far between, as they were outshot 11-1 by the Generals (4-1).

Alina Uncapher got Anthony Wayne on the board with 28:17 to play on an assist from Jocelyn Crossley. Hannah Rybicki made it 2-0 with 8:42 left.

Lila Common and Brynn Gardner tacked on goals for the Generals in the final 31/2 minutes of play.

Findlay goalkeeper Kendra Wurm stopped 10 shots. Anthony Wayne’s Keaton Grabarczyk stopped the lone shot she faced.

Chase Ebanks led the Trojans defensively as she recorded 15 intercepts. Lydia Dillon and Kenzie Beliecki both had six intercepts and Alivia Benjamin recorded three steals.

Anthony Wayne made it a sweep by winning the junior varsity “A” game 3-0 and the JV “B: game 2-1.



DELPHOS — It was a milestone Saturday for Continental’s Alex Hoeffel as she scored the 100th goal of her career in an 8-0 nonconference win against Delphos Jefferson.

Hoeffel, who had a seven-goal performance earlier in the week, scored twice while teammate Addy Armey netted three goals.

Katie Keller, Jensen Armey and Angel Brzozowski also put the ball in the net for the Pirates.

Continental (3-1) had a 32-1 edge in shots. The Pirates’ Madi Burkhart recorded one save. Alli Hosting had 13 saves for the Wildcats (1-4).



BRYAN — Ashley Schroeder scored a pair of goals as Ottawa-Glandorf blanked Bryan 3-0 in nonconference play.

Ashley Schroeder also scored for the Titans as Ottawa-Glandorf (2-2) finished with an 11-3 edge in shots.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Ashton Okuley recorded three saves in getting the shutout. Megan Voigt had nine saves for Bryan (1-3).



KALIDA — Kalida was outshot on Saturday, but Melanie Meyers found the back of the net in leading the Wildcats to a 1-0 win over Lima Bath in nonconference action.

Kalida, which had six shots on goal, improved to 2-2. Bailey White saved all seven Bath shots.

Bath fell to 1-3 overall.

SANDUSKY — Alivia Oney assisted a pair of Taylor Norris goals and Upper Sandusky benefitted from an own goal in a 3-0 nonconference shutout win over Sandusky.

Norris scored 1:57 into the first half and again with 28:40 to play in the match to lead the Rams (3-3), who had just two shots on goal. Upper’s third goal came after Sandusky’s keeper’s attempt to clear the ball hit a Rams defender and bounced into the net.

Sandusky, which did not have a shot on goal, fell to 1-3-1 overall.

DEFIANCE — Defiance tripled Miller City in shots on frame en route to a 4-0 shutout win.

The Bulldogs (1-2) tallied 21 shots on goal as Carlee Smiddy, Brianna Fortman and Alex Hartman were credited with goals.

The Wildcats, who fell to 2-3 overall, had seven shots on goal. Natalie Koenig made 15 saves.

FORT JENNINGS — Lima Central Catholic’s Annika Wilker fired off a first-half hat trick, and later scored a fourth goal in leading the Thunderbirds past Fort Jennings 7-1 in nonleague action.

Also scoring for LCC were Jenna Rose, Avery Rice and Sophia Santaguida as the Thunderbirds tallied 24 shots on goal.

Madison Neidert scored the lone goal for the Musketeers (0-3) with 12:03 to play in the second half and Reilly Fitzpatrick made 12 saves.
