TOLEDO — Toledo Central Catholic’s girls tennis team has won the last two Three Rivers Athletic Conference championships and the Irish continued their dominant ways on Tuesday, dropping just three games in three singles matches and rolling to a 5-0 TRAC sweep of Findlay.

Defending TRAC champions Ava McQuillen and Maverick Delp were overpowering at No. 1 and No. 2 singles respectively. Both posted 6-0, 6-0 sweeps, with McQuillen beating Lauren Spaeth at No. 1 singles and Delp, a former state qualifier for the Irish, downing Becca Mathews at No. 2.

Ellie Hire, who was half of Central Catholic’s TRAC runner-up No. 1 doubles team last season, moved up to No. 3 singles and earned a 6-1, 6-1 win over Megan Earhart.

Rachel Gorman, the other half of TCC’s second-place No. 1 doubles team, joined freshman Bella Spinazze in chalking up a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Katelynn Coleman and Kaylor Stocker.

At No. 2 doubles, TCC juniors Molly Hunter and Molly Mattimoe outlasted Findlay’s Maggie McGhee and Izzy Zalat 6-0, 7-5.

Toledo Central Catholic ran its TRAC winning streak to 18 straight matches, climbing to 4-0 in the league this year and 8-0 overall. Findlay, which will take part in the Willard Invitational on Saturday, fell to 0-4 in the TRAC, 3-7 overall.
