RAWSON — Cory-Rawson scored in the first five minutes and the final five minutes in a 2-0 shutout of Miller City in girls soccer action on Saturday.

Zoe Chisholm scored the first goal for the Hornets (4-1-1) at the 4:14 mark and Aylissa Shoemaker buried a shot nearly 72 minutes later.

Natalie Koenig saved 14 of C-R’s 16 shots on goal for the Wildcats (3-4-0).

OTTOVILLE — Four Ottoville players scored a goal as the Big Green bounced Delphos St. John’s 4-2 on Saturday in nonconference girls soccer.

Haley Hoersten, Kasey Knippen, Peyton Wannemaker and Aly Saxton found the net as Ottoville outshot the Bluejays 24-4 on its way to improving to 3-2.

Addison Mueller and Elly Wrasman scored for St. John’s.

BLUFFTON — Riverdale and Bluffton held leads in Saturday’s girls soccer match before settling on a 2-2 draw in a nonleague contest.

Hanna Breidenbach, who scored both goals for Riverdale (4-1-2), opened the scoring on a set piece just outside of the box at the midway point of the first half.

Laykin Garmatter got Bluffton (2-1-1) on the board with less than four minutes to play in the first half. Kayla White buried a second-half penalty kick to put the Pirates up 2-1.

Riley Busch made nine saves for Bluffton.

Boys Soccer



Findlay rallied for two second half goals to earn a 2-2 tie with Anthony Wayne on Saturday in a nonleague boys soccer matchup at Elmer Graham Stadium.

Findlay trailed 1-0 at the half but tied it when sophomore Logan Johnson scored off an a assist from Devin Snyder. After Anthony Wayne went back in front, freshman midfielder Andrew Allsop connected off a pass from Carson Dale. Zach Mowka and Jacob Sarnes scored goals for Anthony Wayne in a rematch of last year’s Division I district final. Anthony Wayne won that matchup 3-0, but Saturday’s tie ended a four-game winning streak by the Generals (5-2-1).

Findlay outshot Anthony Wayne 18-12. Both goalies — Findlay’s Kevin Kuhn and AW’s Nick Smith — made four saves.

Senior back Brady Shenise led Findlay defensively with 16 intercepts and 11 steals. Snyder had seven intercepts and six steals and Nolan Clouse eight intercepts and four steals.

Findlay’s record went to 2-4-1 heading into Tuesday’s Three Rivers Athletic Conference game at Toledo Central Catholic.

ARCHBOLD — While the shots on frame were close, it was Archbold that found the back of the net en route to a 3-0 shutout win over Riverdale in nonleague boys soccer action Saturday.

Elijah Zimmerman, Josh Kidder and Javier Peche scored a goal apiece to lead Archbold (6-1). Noah Cheney made 10 saves.

Ethan Shane saved seven shots to lead the Falcons (3-3-1), who were outshot just 11-10.

FORT JENNINGS — Lima Shawnee’s Ryan McGuire and Jake Miller both scored a pair of goals to power the Indians to a 6-0 nonconference boys soccer win over Fort Jennings Saturday.

McGuire and Miller also added a pair of assists. Jack Fraser and Carter Jensen scored goals for Lima Shawnee.

The Indians had a 15-9 edge in shots. Fort Jennings’ goalkeeper Evan Hoersten recorded nine saves. Landon Hoehn had three saves for the Indians (5-1-1).
