The Archbold and Liberty-Benton girls soccer teams were both undefeated when they walked onto the pitch for Monday’s nonleague match at L-B.

They left that way, too.

Archbold owned the first half, but Liberty-Benton controlled the second as the Blue Streaks and Eagles played a 2-2 draw.

Archbold, looking to avenge a 1-0 loss to Liberty-Benton in last year’s Division III regional final that ended up being the only blemish on a 20-1 record, is 3-0-2 this season. Liberty-Benton, ranked No. 4 among Ohio’s Division III girls soccer teams, is 5-0-1.

Addison Moyer scored early and Chloe Nofziger late in the first half to put Archbold up 2-0 at the break.

Liberty-Benton tied it during an offensive flurry midway through the second half. Maya Rickle, on an assist from Alexis Rickenbacher, put L-B on the board at the 27:57 mark. Six minutes later, Lexi Nagy tied it off an assist by Chloe Kin.

Liberty-Benton outshot Archbold 13-9. Sophie Aschemeier made seven saves in goal for the Eagles. Reagan Kohler had 11 saves for Archbold.
