Findlay High’s Chase Ebanks broke the school record for intercepts in a season on Saturday in the Trojans’ 1-0 nonconference girls soccer loss to Gahanna Lincoln.

Ebanks made nine intercepts in the match to put her at 259 for the season, one better than the mark set by Sarah Heminger in 2008.

Natalie Stewart’s goal at the 30:50 mark in the first half was all the Lions needed to lift their record to 9-2-5.

Goalkeeper Alyssa Redmond made two saves as Lincoln outshot the Trojans (7-6-3) by a 5-2 margin.

Kendra Wurm made four saves for Findlay, while Caitlin Fraley had six intercepts. Ellie Zawisza, Madison Berry and Alivia Benjamin made five intercepts each, and Lydia Dillon recorded four intercepts and a steal.

ADA — Ada and Allen East battled to a 1-1 draw in the final regular season girls soccer match for both teams.

Allen East finished the regular season with a 7-4-4 record. Ada is 4-11-1.



LIMA — Lima Bath shut out Bluffton 2-0 on Saturday in the final regular season match of the season for both schools.

Lima Bath, unbeaten in its last five games, improved to 9-4-2 heading into tournament play this week.

Bluffton had a three-match winning streak snapped and fell to 7-4-5.

Boys Soccer



RAWSON — Adam Noriega scored once in each half to lead Fort Jennings past Cory-Rawson 3-1 in nonleague boys soccer action on Saturday.

Noriega’s first goal was a first-half equalizer to tie the game at 1-1. His second came nine minutes into the second half to give the Musketeers (3-11-2) a 3-1 lead.

FJ’s Aaron Kloeppel scored on a penalty kick and Ian Ricker had a pair of assists. Jon Grote had 11 saves.

Brice Rutherford scored on a set up by Tyler Stoodt to lead the Hornets (5-7-4).

SPENCERVILLE — Ada’s boys soccer team capped its 2018 regular season with an 5-3 win over Spenverville on Saturday.

Ada improved to 9-6-1 with the win.
