Christina McFarland, a freshman on the University of Findlay women’s swim team, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week following her performance at the Calvin Winter Invite last weekend.

McFarland posted college-best times of 56.22 in finishing third in the 100-yard backstroke and 23.82 in placing fourth in the 50-yard freestyle. McFarland also swam the lead-off leg of UF’s second-place 200 medley relay team.

Bluffton’s Zickafoose tabbed

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University defensive lineman Isaac Zickafoose, a four-time first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selection and twice named the HCAC Defensive Player of the Year, added another honor to his growing list of awards by being named second-team All-North Region by D3football.com.

A 6-foot-1, 245-pound senior, Zickafoos led the HCAC with 111/2 sacks and was second in the league with 17 tackles for losses.

He ended his career with 193 tackles and is the school’s career leader in sacks (351/2), tackles for loss (601/2), tackles-for-loss (308), sacks (228) and fumble recovery (85) yardage and quarterback hurries (15).
