Hopewell-Loudon hit the first basket of the game to go up 3-0, but state-ranked Liberty-Benton closed the first quarter on an 18-0 run en route to a 52-27 win in Blanchard Valley Conference girls action.

Savanah Richards finished with 22 points, six steals and six assists to lead Liberty-Benton (11-0, 6-0 BVC). The Eagles are ranked second in the Associated Press Division III poll.

Sam Shardo had 13 points for L-B, and Caitlin Elseser had seven points and seven rebounds.

Olivia Zender had nine points for Hopewell-Loudon (11-3, 4-2 BVC).

NORTH BALTIMORE — Arcadia broke open a close contest by blitzing North Baltimore 42-14 in the middle two quarters on its way to a 70-32 Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball win against the Tigers on Thursday.

Kennedy Pratt led a trio of Arcadia players in double figures with 18 points. Reagan Pratt netted 16 points and Danielle Burnett added 14 as the Redskins improved to 11-1 overall and 5-1 in the BVC.

Alivia Light did a little bit of everything for the Tigers (5-6, 4-2) as she scored 16 points with four assists and three steals.

ARLINGTON — Arlington’s Morgan Smith was 12 of 13 from the field and 2 of 2 from the free-throw line for 26 points to power the Red Devils to an 84-21 Blanchard Valley Conference girls basketball win over Pandora-Gilboa on Thursday night.

Smith also grabbed seven rebounds with two assists as she was one of three players to reach double figures for Arlington (10-3, 5-1 BVC). Jenna Pepple scored 16 points with eight assists, seven steals and four rebounds while Kylie Sheets chipped in 12 points.

Lacie Fenstermaker scored 10 points for Pandora-Gilboa (3-8, 0-6).

Maddie Parker led Van Buren (5-8, 2-4 BVC) with 18 points, including 10 from the free-throw line. Van Buren was 19 of 26 from the line.

Parker also had 10 steals and three assists. Breanna Tabler had nine points and Faith DeWalt added eight points.

Maliah Snook led Vanlue (6-6, 3-4 BVC) with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Emma Biller had 11 points and eight rebounds.

Bry Vanden Bosch led Riverdale with eight points. Brooke Kuenzli and Payton Rodriguez had five rebounds apiece for the Falcons.
