With the win, Ottawa-Glandorf improved to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the WBL. Van Wert fell to 4-6 and 1-2.

Ottawa-Glandorf’s Owen Hiegel led all scorers with 23 points. Ethan White added 11 and Ben Westrick chipped in eight for the Titans, who entertain Findlay in a nonconference contest tonight.

Nate Place led three Van Wert players in double figures with 19 points. Lawson Blackmore and Owen Treece added 11 and 10 points respectively for the Cougars.

FORT JENNINGS — Kalida’s Trevor Lammers found the Fort Jennings gymnasium to his liking Friday night, scoring all 16 of the Wildcats’ second-quarter points in a 42-21 Putnam County League boys basketball triumph.

The win leaves Kalida 7-4, 2-0 in the PCL, while Fort Jennings fell to 2-9, 0-3.

Kalida rolled to an 18-2 first-quarter margin. Lammers, who had three of Kalida’s six points, drained seven field goals in the second stanza to run away to an easy win.

Luke Erhart had eight points for the Wildcats with Carson Kazee scoring a team-high nine for the Musketeers (2-9, 0-3). Nick Trentman had six points.

CONTINENTAL — After allowing Continental 13 first-quarter points Miller City’s good defensive play limited the Pirates to single digits the rest of the way in posting a 53-33 Putnam County League boys basketball win Friday night.

The teams battled to a 13-13 tie after one quarter before Miller City, now 6-5 and a PCL-best 3-0, doubled up the Pirates 28-14 for a comfortable lead.

Luke Lammers’ 14 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists led Miller City with Nick Gable scoring nine points and grabbing eight rebounds. T.J. Michel also had nine points.

Continental (1-11, 0-2) got a 19-point performance from Mitchell Coleman, who canned five of the team’s six 3-pointers. Reed Warnement had a team-high six rebounds and two steals.

Old Fort, which improved to 9-2 overall and 7-0 in the SBC, led 31-27 at halftime before outscoring the Panthers (9-2, 5-2) 25-10 in the third quarter.

Carson Steyer’s 21 points led Old Fort. AJ Steyer added 14 points to along with six rebounds, six steals and six assists. Zach Dewese also had 14 points and a team-leading eight rebounds.
