ARLINGTON — Bryce Gast made the most of his 11 minutes on Friday night connecting on seven long-range buckets and leading Arlington over North Baltimore 68-44 in Blanchard Valley Conference action.

Gast finished with a game-high 23 points for the Red Devils, who improved to 9-4 overall and remain in a five-way tie for first place in the BVC at 5-1.

Riverdale and Pandora-Gilboa are also 5-1 in the league, while Van Buren and Hopewell-Loudon are each 4-1.

Ryan Metzger supported Gast with 1 4points and a team-high six rebounds. Jacob Russell (six assists) and Ivan Berry also grabbed six rebounds apiece.

Levi Gazarek paced the Tigers (2-9, 0-5) with 15 points and three blocks. Johnny Hagemyer snagged a game-best seven boards.

McCOMB — McComb and Liberty-Benton combined to shoot 55 3-pointers and make 25 of them on Friday night.

But despite the Eagles winning three of four quarters, the Panthers doubled up L-B in the third to inch out a 68-67 Blanchard Valley Conference win.

Aaron Davis scored all 18 of his points on six triples, spearheading the Panthers’ 14-of-27 effort from deep. McComb improved to 3-5 overall, but is one of seven one-loss BVC schools moving to 3-1 with the victory.

Three other scored in double figures for the Panthers led by Tyler Durfey’s 15 points. Tanner Schroeder (5 assists) scored 14 and Tristan Sherick (7 rebounds) had 10.

Ben Spiess knocked down seven 3s in scoring a game-high 25 points for the Eagles (4-8, 3-3), who made 11 of 28 3-pointers. Josh Reindel popped in 20 points and Cole Busch scored 14 with six rebounds.

The Eagles’ Mehkei Jenkins, who scored two points, led the team in both assists (8) and steals (6).

ARCADIA — Jared Breece nearly outscored Arcadia on his own as his double-double carried Pandora-Gilboa past the Redskins 59-29 in Friday’s Blanchard Valley Conference game.

Breece pumped in a game-high 21 points and led all players with 10 rebounds for the Rockets (8-5, 5-1 BVC), who remain in the five-way tie for first place in the BVC with Riverdale (5-1), Arlington (5-1), Van Buren (4-1) and Hopewell-Loudon (4-1).

Riley Larcom chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds for P-G and Zeb George also popped in 11.

Logan Boes paced Arcadia (1-12, 0-6), which committed 19 turnovers, with nine points. Eli Palmer led with six rebounds.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Alec Loveridge led 10 Riverdale players in scoring with 19 points and the Falcons stayed atop the Blanchard Valley Conference standings with a 66-44 win Friday over visiting Vanlue.

Trystan Mix added 11 points for Riverdale (10-4, 5-1 BVC), which entered the game in a five-way tie for the conference lead with Hopewell-Loudon, Arlington, Van Buren and Pandora-Gilboa.

Joey Bonham had 18 points and Braydon Saltzman added 10 for Vanlue (2-10, 0-5).

RAWSON — Cole Rieman, Tyler Hiegel and Dylan Schroeder scored a combined 39 points and Leipsic held off a fourth-quarter rally by Cory-Rawson as the Vikings topped the Hornets 58-50 on Friday in a Blanchard Valley Conference tilt.

Rieman finished with a game-high 14 points, Hiegel added 13 and Schroeder had 12 for Leipsic (6-6, 4-2 BVC).

Cory-Rawson (3-9, 0-6), which finished the game on a 20-16 run, got 13 points from Kyle Schultz and 10 from Brandon Zuercher. Keevan Lee led the Hornets with four rebounds.
