KANSAS — Lakota freshman Josh Matz scored eight of the Raiders last 13 points, including two free throws in the final seconds to clinch a 67-65 win over Northwood on Wednesday in a nonleague boys basketball contest.

Matz finished with 25 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Carter Reinhart scored 15 points and Dakota Travis pulled down 16 rebounds as Lakota won for the second time in its last five games and improved to 2-17.

Jay Moten scored 27 points for Northwood, including two free throws to tie the game 65-65. Logan McDermott had 17 points, 11 rebounds and six blocks for the Rangers (5-15).

The teams combined for 60 3-point attempts, with Lakota connecting on 6 of 26 treys and Northwood 7 of 34.
