ADA — Senior Ryan Bruns netted 13 of his team-high 16 points in the second half and junior Caleb Bryan had all of his career-high 15 points in the first half to lead the Ohio Northern men’s basketball team in an 82-73 Ohio Athletic Conference victory at Heidelberg on Wednesday.

The Polar Bears improved to 6-18 overall and are 2-15 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Student Princes fell to 8-16, 6-11.

Bryan was a perfect 7-for-7 from the floor to score all 15 of his points as ONU led 47-24 at intermission.

Senior Daniel Donner and sophomore Colton Bachman added 14 points each, freshman Daniel Unruh scored 13 points and junior Austin Allemeier chipped in 10 points for ONU.

Heidelberg was led by Myron Prewitt with 24 points.

The Polar Bears will wrap up their season on Saturday when they Muskingum in a 3 p.m. contest on senior day at the ONU Sports Center.



Jameel Cosby came off the bench to score 16 points to power Bluffton University’s men’s basketball team to a 61-44 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Manchester at the Sommer Center.

Cosby was the only Bluffton player in double figures. Dezman Brown netted nine points and Andrew Brenner and Brevin Dye both added seven points for the Beavers (17-7 overall, 11-6 HCAC)

Adrian Johnson netted 12 points for Manchester (9-15, 6-11).

Women’s basketball



MANCHESTER — Bluffton University rallied to tie the game with a 20-15 edge in the fourth quarter, then dominated Manchester in overtime to come away with a 77-69 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win on Wednesday.

Kylie Brock poured in 29 points, Tj Mills had 21 and Bluffton High School grad Abbie Parkins added 10 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. New Riegel grad Brianna Gillig scored six points and grabbed 10 rbounds for BU (9-15, 7-10 HCAC).

Nicole Weaver pumped in 14 points for a Manchester (4-20, 2-15 HCAC) team that had six other players score between seven and nine points each.



ADA — Ohio Northern’s took care of Heidelberg 53-45 on senior night in an Ohio Athletic Conference game at the ONU Sports Center.

The Polar Bears improved to 12-12 overall and 6-11 in the OAC with the win. Heidelberg dropped to 9-15 overall and 5-12.

On the court, the three seniors would shine in their final home contest.

Jenna Dirksen topped the scoring effort for ONU with 12 points. Tori Wyss (Ada) led the Polar Bears with a team-high 12 rebounds and three steals.
