Bluffton senior guard Alivia Koenig was selected as the Northwest Conference Player of the Year as the NWC released its all-league girls basketball selections on Wednesday.

Koenig averaged 13.0 points and 3.0 assists per game in leading the Pirates to a 17-5 regular season record and co-NWC championship with Columbus Grove. Entering tournament play, Koenig had scored a career 1,303 points and was a second-team all-NW Ohio selection as a junior.

Bluffton’s Averey Rumer, Columbus Grove’s Rylee Sybert and Makenzie King, Convoy Crestview’s Lexi Gregory and Spencerville’s Emma Leis joined Koenig on the all-NWC first team.

In addition, Bluffton coach Eric Garmatter was named the NWC Coach of the Year.

Bluffton’s Katie Prater and Columbus Grove’s Abigail Gladwell made the all-NWC honorable mention list.
