MOUNT BLANCHARD — Kyle Rumschlag hit the winning layup with 18 seconds left off an assist from Jordyn Jury as Hopewell-Loudon defeated Riverdale 48-47 in Friday’s Blanchard Valley Conference game.

Jury had a game-high 18 points, and Rumschlag and Travis Milligan each scored 10 points as Hopewell-Loudon improved to 13-9 overall and 6-5 in the league in its final BVC boys basketball game. Rumschlag led the Chieftains with seven rebounds.

Alec Loveridge led Riverdale (14-8, 7-4 BVC) with 13 points and a game-best 11 rebounds. Logan Frey scored nine points and Brock Davis had seven points.

RAWSON — Carson Houck netted a game-high 25 points and swiped three steals to help Cory-Rawson to an 89-45 Blanchard Valley Conference win over Vanlue on Friday in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Tommy Stauffer had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Kyle Schultz finished with 17 points and five assists and Logan Stuckey added 12 points and four steals for Cory-Rawson (8-14, 3-8 BVC).

Vanlue (2-19, 0-11) got 13 points from Joey Bonham and nine rebounds from Evan Saltzman.

McCOMB — After a double-overtime win Thursday night, Pandora-Gilboa capped its regular season with another extra-time victory, outlasting McComb 8-0 in overtime to claim a 60-52 Blanchard Valley Conference win on Friday.

Jared Breece paced the Rockets in a plethora of categories, scoring a team-high 26 points and leading with seven rebounds and four assists. Riley Larcom, who matched Breece’s seven boards, added 18 points.

P-G, which will open tournament play at 6:15 p.m. next Friday against the McComb/Hardin Northern at Van Buren High School, finishes tied with Arlington as the BVC runner-up behind Van Buren.

Tyler Durfey got in a groove from beyond the 3-point arc, hitting six 3s and pumping in a game-high 28 points with five rebounds to lead the Panthers (9-10, 7-4). Tanner Schroeder acored 12 with five boards and a pair of assists.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Four players scored at least 20 points in Friday’s high-scoring affair between Liberty-Benton and North Baltimore.

The Eagles rostered three of those four players, as they raced past the Tigers for an 89-70 Blanchard Valley Conference win to end the regular season.

Ben Spiess accounted for five of the team’s eight 3-pointers and led with 21 points for L-B (7-15, 5-6 BVC). Cole Busch, hitting six free throws, also scored 21, while Josh Reindel added 20.

Mehkei Jenkins did not score for the Eagles, but the conference’s leader in assists per game dished out 10 dimes and led with four steals. Jake Reindel led with nine rebounds.

Levi Gazarek topped all scorers racking up a game-high 29 points with seven assists for North Baltimore (3-19, 1-9). Alex Snyder scored eight with nine rebounds.

L-B’s junior varsity team claimed a 71-23 win to claim the league title at 10-1 in the conference.
