Dean Pees will be polishing up on his public speaking skills this spring.

Pees, a Hardin Northern grad and former head football coach at Elmwood and currently the defensive coordinator of the Tennessee Titans, will be behind the podium twice in the upcoming months.

On May 18, Pees will be delivering the speech at one of three commencement ceremonies being staged by Bowling Green State University. Pees is a 1972 BGSU graduate.

A month later, Pees will be one of six men being inducted into the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. That ceremony, the 50th class of inductees being recognized by the OHSFCA, will be held June 14 in Columbus. From his playing days at Hardin Northern to his early coaching stints at Elmwood High School, the University of Findlay and Kent State, to his role as the defensive coordinator of Super Bowl-winning teams in New England (2004, 2005) and Baltimore (2013) Pees has spent 50 years in football.
