DOLA — Cory-Rawson rallied for four runs in the top of the seven inning Tuesday and posted a 7-4 Division IV district quarterfinal baseball victory over Hardin Northern.

The victory sends the 6-14 and 11th-seeded Hornets into Thursday’s district semifinal at top-seeded Kalida (13-2) at 5 p.m.

Cory-Rawson, which made the most of six hits, built a 3-0 lead in the first inning before the No.10 Polar Bears (6-17) chipped away with solo runs in the first, third, fifth and sixth for a 4-3 lead.

Daylin Pees relieved starter Owen Wetherill in the seventh was charged with four earned runs on just two hits and walk.

Logan Stuckey had two singles to lead the Hornets, while Pees (2B, 1B), Lance Good (2-1B) and Brady Cramer (2B, 1B) paced the Polar Bears.

Kyle Schultz earned the victory by scattering seven hits with three strike outs and three walks over seven innings.

HAMLER — Vanlue put three runs on the board before Patrick Henry got its first at-bats on Tuesday. But the Patriots did all the scoring from then on in rolling to a 17-3 win over the Wildcats in a first-round Division IV OHSAA tournament game.

Layke Crossland came on in relief with Patrick Henry down 3-0 in the first inning. He allowed just one hit and struck out six over the next 41/3 innings.

Hunter Diem had two hits and drove in five runs. James Gerken (3 RBI) and Christian Petersen added two hits for the Patriots (7-12), who will face North Baltimore in Thursday’s quarterfinal.

Xavier Temple doubled and Jacob Baird had an RBI single for Vanlue (0-14).

HARROD — Three Allen East pitchers combined on a two-hit, nine-strikeout shutout on Tuesday when the Mustangs raced past Pandora-Gilboa 10-0 in the opening round of the Division IV OHSAA baseball tournament.

Jordan Miller started, retired all nine batters he faced and earned the win for Allen East (12-15), which will face Miller City in Thursday’s district quarterfinal matchup. Dalton Clum (1B, 2B), Chase Miller (1B, 3B) and Carter Frey (2-1B) led Allen East’s offense with two hits each.

Ryan Johnson and Tommy Hovest had the lone base hits for P-G (3-14).

OLD FORT — Old Fort racked up 17 hits and outslugged Sandusky St. Mary’s 15-5 in five innings in the Division IV district baseball opener Tuesday.

The Stockaders (8-7) will meet No. 2 seed Hopewell-Loudon (16-5) in the district quarterfinals 5 p.m. Thursday at Hopewell-Loudon.

Myles Miller (2B) posted team-highs of four hits and three RBIs for Old Fort while Ryan Miller homered, singled and drove in two runs.

Everett Samstag notched three doubles and two RBIs for the Panthers (8-14).

TIFFIN — Tiffin Calvert scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Ridgemont 3-2 in a Division IV district baseball quarterfinal Tuesday at Tiffin Calvert.

The Senecas (6-10) will meet No. 2 seed Colonel Crawford (17-7) at 5 p.m. Thursday in the district semifinals at Colonel Crawford.

Josh Gase doubled, singled and had the only RBI for Tiffin Calvert. Nolan Wuescher threw a two-hitter with two unearned runs allowed and nine strikeouts to three walks.

The Golden Gophers are eliminated at 4-14 overall.

LUCAS — Carey’s Reece Mullholand tossed a three-hitter, but the Blue Devils were not able to muster an offense Tuesday in a 3-0 loss to Lucas in a Division IV district quarterfinal baseball game.

Mullholand struck out two and walked four and gave up just one earned run in six innings of work for Carey (7-15). Mullholand also had two singles at the plate for the Blue Devils.

Logan Niswander earned the win, allowing just three hits in five innings. Lucas, which got two singles from Riley Gossom, will play at Plymouth at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the district semifinals.

CONTINENTAL — Continental’s Nick States fired a two-hit shutout and provided a couple of hits of his own in leading the Pirates to a 12-0 win over Holgate in a Division IV tournament baseball game on Tuesday.

States (RBI), Jarret Keck (4 RBI) and Blake Elkins (2 RBI) had a double and single each. Gannon Prowant had a single, triple and two RBI for Continental (6-13).

Brandon Hohenberger had both hits for Holgate (2-18).

ADA — Four Delphos St. John’s batters had multiple hits as the Blue Jays beat Ada 7-3 on Tuesday in a Division IV district quarterfinal.

The Blue Jays will take on Columbus Grove (13-6) at 5 p.m. Thursday in the district semis.

Connor Frazier took the loss at the mound, allowing seven hits. He also led Ada (8-12) with a double.

Luke Reindel got the win for St. John’s, allowing one earned run on four hits in four innings.
