ARCADIA — Riverdale survived a solo home run by Arcadia’s Caity Cramer in the bottom of the seventh inning and prevailed 3-2 to knock the Redskins out of a tie for first place in the Blanchard Valley Conference softball standings Wednesday.

The Falcons improved to 11-7 overall and 7-3 in the BVC while the Redskins dropped to 11-10, 8-2. Hopewell-Loudon (17-6, 10-1) and McComb (14-6, 9-1) remain tied atop the BVC in the loss column.

With a share of the BVC crown out of reach, the Redskins will play the role of spoiler when they take on McComb on Saturday.

Justine Messmer hit a solo homer for Riverdale’s final run.

GIBSONBURG — Gibsonburg’s Coral Kocsis and Keely Snyder each had three-hit games with a homer and four RBIs as the Golden Bears trounced Lakota 10-1 for a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division softball win Wednesday.

Snyder had two of the seven doubles hit by Gibsonburg (15-7, 9-2 River Division) which totaled 13 hits.

Emily Herr recorded a multi-hit game for the Raiders (9-14, 6-5) who scored their lone run unearned in the fifth inning.

DOLA — Hardin Northern broke a 5-5 tie with four runs in sixth inning and held off an Arlington rally to prevail 9-8 in a nonleague softball contest Wednesday.

Ashton Dye went 4 for 4 with a double and an RBI while Alex Jackson and Maddie Grappy each singled and drove in two runs for the Polar Bears who improved to 9-10 overall.

Kylie Jolliff (2B) had a team-high two RBIs for the Red Devils (10-10) while Holly Lee tripled with an RBI.

LEIPSIC — Leipsic’s seven-run second inning broke the game open and the Vikings cruised by Vanlue 11-1 in five innings for a Blanchard Valley Conference softball win Wednesday.

Bailee Sickmiller doubled, singled and drove in two runs while Maddie Walther had a hit and two RBIs for the Vikings (10-14, 3-8 BVC).

Maliah Snook singled and drove in the only run for the Wildcats (1-13, 1-10).
