Elmwood’s Madison Hoiles and Jill Hannah each earned first team honors as the Northern Buckeye Conference released its all-league softball selections Monday.

Hoiles landed the nod as a designated hitter while Hannah did so as an outfielder.

Eastwood ran through the league at 14-0 and swept the top individual honors as Ashley Hitchcock was Pitcher of the Year and Carleigh Coffield was Offensive Player of the Year.

Fostoria High’s Kyhra Baeder (first base) and Kyah Talley (designated hitter) were each second team picks as well as Elmwood’s Makenna Benschoter (second base).

Archbold swept the top honors as the Northwest Ohio Athletic League released its all-league baseball selections Monday.

Rigo Ramos was named NWOAL Player of the Year while Dick Selgo was tabbed as Coach of the Year as the Blue Streaks won their second league title in the past three years.

Patrick Henry’s Christian Petersen landed on the first team while Kolton Holloway was an honorable mention.

Marion Elgin, Lima Perry and Sidney Lehman shared the Northwest Central Conference baseball title and dominated the all-league top honors announced Wednesday.

The three teams finished at 6-1 in league play and combined for 10 of the 12 first-team selections. Lima Perry and Sidney Lehman each had four first-team picks.

Hardin Northern’s Daylin Pees and Owen Wetherill were second-team selections. Teammates Brady Cramer and Lance Good were honorable mention.

All-WBL baseball

Elida’s Noah Adcock was tabbed the Western Buckeye Player of the Year and conference co-champions Van Wert and Defiance shared the coach of the year award in the all-WBL baseball selections for the 2019 season.

Van Wert’s Charlie Wittin and Tom Held of Defiance were named WBL co-coaches of the year. The Cougars, who are 21-2 and ranked eighth among Ohio’s Division II programs, and the Bulldogs went 8-1 in league play.

Ottawa-Glandorf sophomore Jacob Balbaugh earned third-team all-WBL honors. The Titans’ Ethan Alt received honoral mention all-league recognition.
