Rounds of 79 by Noah Brand and Justy VonLehmden were just enough for both to post one-stroke victories and win their age divisions when the Findlay Area Golf Association capped the 2019 season with its annual tournament at the Findlay Country Club.

The top two boys divisions were down-to-the-wire competitive.

Brand’s 79 earned him a one-stroke victory over Seth Lasiter (80) in the 16-18 tournament. Brice McDaniel was a close third with an 81.

It was a carbon-copy finish in the boys 14-15 age bracket, where VonLehmden (79), Henry Rill (80) and Nick Feighner (81) were separated by a single stroke.

The best round of the day came from the boys 12-13 division where Ryan Montgomery topped the field with a 78. CJ Beeman (91) and JJ Mihalik (93) were second and third, with Blake Hartman (45), Lawson Bain (51) and Jackson Hochstettler (52) leading the field in the 10-11 competition.

Taylor Adams won the girls 14-18 tournament with an 84, followed by Jordan Busher (91) and Kiley Cline (97). Jenna Brown (62), Ava Metz (71) and Greta Zachewski (85) placed 1-2-3 in the 10-13 division.

In addition to crowning age group champions in Monday’s tournament, FAGA recognized other award-winners as well. Andrew Kuenzli and Kiley Cline were the boys and girls recipients of the Dr. Spragg Player of the Year Awards, and AJ Overmyer and Claire Recker were winners of the Walt Whithaus Sportmanship Award.
