TOLEDO “” A pair of freshmen led the way for Findlay High School’s boys golf team as the Trojans were fifth at Saturday’s Toledo St. Francis Invitational at Heatherdowns Country Club.

Nick Feighner and Ethan Lammers had the low scores of the day for the Trojans as they both finished with a 78. Zach Harris shot a 79 and Grant Lane added an 85 to complete the scoring. Harrison Hall (87) and Justin Hartman (89) also played for FHS.

Anthony Wayne’s Andrew Briar was the medalist with a 71.

Sylvania Northview topped Toledo St. John’s 306-316 for the team championship. The Trojans finished with 320 strokes.

The tournament also counted as the second Three Rivers Athletic Conference match of the season.

Eynon leads FHS girls

TOLEDO — Sydney Eynon has a solid say for Findlay High School’s girls golf team as she fired an 84 to lead the Trojans at Saturday’s Notre Dame Academy Invitational at South Toledo Golf Club.

New Albany shot a blistering 291 to win the team championship by 30 strokes over runner up Lima Central Catholic. Findlay finished ninth in the 11-team field with 428 strokes.

Cate Rummel and Abby Powell both shot 112 to back Eynon. Casey Tate added a 120 and Cameron Heiserman fired a 121 for Findlay.

New Albany’s Anna Ritter was the tournament medalist with a 69.

2 aces at Birch Run

NORTH BALTIMORE — There were a pair of holes-in-one on Friday at Birch Run Golf Club both coming on the 122-yard No. 13 home.

Hunter Foltz aced the hole using a sand wedge as Ben Harris witnessed the shot.

Greg Frost also scored a hole-in-one on No. 13 using a sand wedge.

Lisa and Mike Frost, Chris and Amy Naugle and Mickey Rockhill witnessed Frost’s ace.
