CLYDE — Cortni Brown recorded her eighth career shutout Saturday and a pair of Upper Sandusky freshmen netted their first varsity goals as the Rams’ girls soccer team blanked Clyde 5-0 in a nonconference season opener.

Brown was credited with just one save as Upper Sandusky held a 15-1 shots advantage.

Freshman Hannah Windau scored two goals in her Rams’ debut and Mia Norris had her initial tally as well to go along with two goals by Riley Messersmith.

Windau, Norris and Keydi Camacho posted assists.

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 4

BLUFFTON — Clara Beach scored two goals and Ottawa-Glandorf opened its girls soccer season with a 4-1 nonconference victory over Bluffton. at Steinmetz Field

The Titans also got goals from Kelsey Erford and Ella Okuley. Bluffton’s lone tally came from Kayla White.

O-G held a 9-8 edge in shots on goal and the Titans’ Ashton Okuley was credited with seven saves. Julia Mehaffie had five saves for the Pirates.

OREGON — Zoe Chisholm and Aylissa Shoemaker each scored two goals as Cory-Rawson’s girls soccer team blanked Cardinal Stritch 7-0 Saturday in a nonconference match.

The Hornets, now 1-1, also got goals from Jocelyn Peterson, Libby McVetta and Grace Roebke. Paige McVetta recorded three assists while Shoemaker also had an assist.

Katie Bish and Evelyn Waltz each had a save for Cory-Rawson, which outshot Stritch 32-2.

VAN WERT — Matt White scored the lone goal for the Cory-Rawson boys soccer team Saturday in a 3-1 nonconference loss to Van Wert.

White’s tally was assisted by Zac Stoodt. Clayton Skulina had four saves, including one on a penalty kick.

Gabriel Steyer, Cody Gamble and Christian Eberle scored for Van Wert.

BLUFFTON 5

PETTISVILLE 0

PETTISVILLE — Bluffton’s boys soccer team opened its season on the road and took care of Pettisville 5-0 in Saturday’s nonconference contest.

Jude Spallinger recorded a hat trick for the Pirates by scoring three goals.

Tayton Kleman and Brandon Good also scored goals for the Pirates.

CLYDE — Upper Sandusky opened the boys soccer season by doubling up Clyde 2-1 in Saturday’s nonconference game.
