It might have also been a preview.

Only time will tell.

Liberty-Benton and Archbold, who have squared off in the Division III girls soccer regional finals the past two seasons, met up again on Monday in a battle of unbeaten state powers. While the schools traded 1-0 tournament wins — L-B winning the 2017 regional final, and Archbold taking last year’s matchup by that same 1-0 score — defense dominated Monday as the teams fought to a 0-0 draw.

Liberty-Benton, ranked No. 9 among Ohio’s Division III teams, remained unbeaten at 5-0-1. Archbold is undefeated as well at 5-0-2.

Liberty-Benton had a 13-5 advantage in shots on goal. Archbold’s Reagan Kohler stopped all 13 shots, though, while L-B keeper Allie Hiegel did the same on Archbold’s five attempts.
