PANDORA — Pandora-Gilboa started fast and finished strong, posting progressively more one-sided scores in rolling to a 25-15, 25-14, 25-7 win over Cory-Rawson in Monday’s Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball match.

Lacie Fenstermaker was 24 of 24 spiking and led P-G (2-5, 1-1 BVC) in kills (9), aces (3) and digs (11). Taelor Miller added four kills and four blocks and Lillie Nofziger was 38 of 41 setting with 12 assists.

Riley Garmatter was 30 of 33 spiking with eight kills and 33 of 35 setting with six assists and 18 digs for Cory-Rawson (2-5, 0-2 BVC). Ali Garmatter was 22 of 26 spiking with six kills and 12 digs, while Maddy Wellington was 62 of 64 setting with 10 assists.

Taylor Born led C-R with 20 digs and Sami Roth added 14.

MCCOMB — Leipsic rallied from a 2-1 deficit and the Vikings rode a record-setting assist effort by Lyndie Hazelton in outlasting McComb 25-21, 22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-10 in a Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball battle on Monday.

Hazelton, a senior setter, was 152 of 155 setting and handed out a school-record 53 assists.

Peyton Heitmeyer was 48 of 52 spiking with 17 kills and 16 digs and Liz Scheckelhoff was 33 of 40 spiking with 18 kills and four blocks. Kasey Brough was 24 of 25 serving, 26 of 33 spiking with 10 kills and had three blocks as Leipsic rebounded from last week’s BVC loss to Liberty-Benton to improve to 7-1 overall, 2-1 in the BVC.

McComb, 7-2 overall, suffered its first BVC loss (1-1).

Nicole Krassow had a strong all-around game for the Panthers. The junior was 43 of 53 spiking with 14 kills, 17 of 18 serving with a pair of aces, and had 26 digs.

Alysha Like (35-40 spiking) led McComb in both kills (15) and blocks (7). Hannah Schroeder (34-35 spiking) had 14 kills and 17 digs, Shaye Hemminger topped the team with 36 digs, and Alexis Shoop (74-75) and Madison Buck (58-63) were a combined 132 of 138 setting with 44 total assists.

Liberty-Benton’s volleyball team trailed in a set for only the second this season on Monday, but the Eagles rallied to beat Otsego 25-17, 25-9, 26-24 in a matchup of unbeaten teams.

Otsego led Liberty-Benton 22-15 in the third set. But the No. 2-ranked Eagles, who trailed Fairview 18-17 in a match earlier this season, rallied back to run their unbeaten streak to 24-0 in sets and 9-0 in matches.

Izzy Granger had a big all-around game for L-B. The sophomore outside hitter was 29 of 30 spiking with a team-high 16 kills, 20 of 21 serving with four aces, and came up with 16 digs.

Schy Shepherd was 15 of 15 spiking with 10 kills. Emma Otley had 15 digs, Hannah Warrington 14 and Hannah Bodie 13. Alissa Rhodes set up the front line, going a perfect 68 of 68 setting with 34 assists.

The loss was the first for Otsego (5-1).

Emma Reineke slammed 18 kills, while Sophia Reineke stuffed seven blocks for Van Buren (10-2, 2-0 BVC).

Abbie Sheets and Hailey Essinger had 12 and 10 kills, respectively, for Arlington (5-5, 1-2 BVC). Lindsay Dodds dished out 36 assists on 124 of 125 setting.

Hope Kreais had 14 kills, and Megan Kreais and Elizabeth Wells both had seven kills for Hopewell-Loudon (5-4, 3-2 SBC River). Abbi Roerdink had 42 assists and seven kills, and Grace Dohanyos added a team-best 18 digs. Peyton Hoover had 17 digs and 10 kills.

New Riegel, ranked eighth in the initial Division IV coaches poll, improved to 9-0, 6-0 SBC River.
