Anthony Wayne went overtime in both doubles matches and won a three-set marathon at No. 3 singles in posting a 5-0 victory over Findlay in the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team tournament at the FHS Courts on Wednesday.

Anthony Wayne’s Kelsey Verhoff rallied from a first-set setback to outlast Findlay’s Mollie Quaid 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. The Generals’ doubles teams rode first-set thrillers to victory, with Ashley Hartzel and Kassidy Pittman (No. 1) beating Findlay’s Kelsey and Ashley Coleman 7-5, 6-4, and Grace Skilliter and Jordyn Foukes (No. 2) topping Miyu Uchiyama and Katie Short 7-5, 6-2.

Anthony Wayne (11-2) swept the top two singles matches as well, with Emma Nofziger (No. 1) scoring a 6-4, 6-0 decision over Megan Earhart and Elizabeth Seiple (No. 2) winning 6-1, 6-2 over Sydney Swisher.

Findlay (8-6) returns to Three Rivers Athletic Conference play today with a league match at Toledo Whitmer.
