A little bit of perfection went a long way for Liberty-Benton’s volleyball team on Monday.

Alissa Rhodes was a perfect 74 of 74 setting with 31 assists and Hannah Warrington was a perfect 21 of 21 spiking with 10 kills and 11 digs as the unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Eagles continued to steamroll their way through the Blanchard Valley Conference with a straight-set 25-12, 25-11, 25-10 win over McComb.

Schy Shepherd was 17 of 18 spiking with a team-high 13 kills and Hannah Bodie was 19 of 20 serving with two aces. Emma Otley had nine digs, Izzy Granger and Bodie both had eight, and Caitlin Elseser had five blocks. Granger also had seven kills and Karis Willow had five as L-B won its 29th consecutive BVC match and improved to 6-0 in the league, 13-0 overall.

L-B will host Tiffin Columbian in a nonleague match today and resume BVC play Wednesday at Cory-Rawson. The Eagles, ranked No. 1 among Ohio’s Division III schools, then jump into deep water this weekend when they take part in the Perrysburg Gold & White Invitational.

The smallest school in the eight-team field, L-B will face Oregon Clay in its opening match. First-round results will determine later pairings in an elite field that includes some of the top Division I programs in the state, including No. 8 Columbus St. Francis DeSales, No. 9-ranked Perrysburg and No. 11 Avon.

In Monday’s match, McComb’s Alexis Shoop was 29 of 33 setting with six assists and Madison Buck was 27 of 27 spiking with four assists. Hannah Schroeder had 15 digs, with Nicole Krassow and Hailey Jenkins adding 11 each. Alysha Like was 23 of 25 spiking and led McComb (11-5, 3-3 BVC) with three blocks.

VAN BUREN — Lindsey Shaw became the first Black Knight in program history to hit the 2,000 assist mark for her career as Van Buren defeated Toledo Waite 25-3, 25-5, 25-6 in a nonconference volleyball match.

Shaw reached the milestone in the second set Monday and finished with 22 assists for 35 of 35 setting. Emma Reineke had 18 kills for Van Buren (11-4). Maddy Marks had eight aces and Sophia Reineke added seven aces.

The victory leaves the 13-1 and No. 7-ranked Division IV Vikings 5-1 in the BVC and tied for second with Arcadia behind unbeaten Liberty-Benton (6-0).

Lyndie Hazelton was 96 of 99 setting with 40 assists and Peyton Heitmeyer (26-28 hitting) and Kasey Brough (22-27 hitting) each had 12 kills. Liz Scheckelhoff led with four blocks for the Vikings.

Riverdale improved to 2-10 overall and 1-6 in the BVC; North Baltimore fell to 3-12, 0-6.

Columbus Grove’s Becca Choi was 20 of 21 serving with two aces, 26 of 31 spiking with nine kills and led the Bulldogs (7-7) with 25 assists.

Alayna Ricker (11 kills) and Angel Schneider (9 kills) were both 26 of 30 spiking. Ricker also led Columbus Grove with 11 digs and Emily Ridinger had 10.
