Reese Recker and Sophia Reineke each had eight points for Van Buren (3-2), while Agnes Durliat and Breanna Tabler (five assists) each scored seven points. Recker had a game-high nine rebounds. Parker had four steals.

Maddie Grappy had a game-high 28 points for Hardin Northern (1-5). Eris McCoy scored six points with seven rebounds.

NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore used a solid start and a strong finish to chalk up a 45-32 win over Holgate on Monday in a nonleague girls basketball matchup.

Mia McCartney poured in 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead North Baltimore. Leah Lee had 13 points and six rebounds and Grace Hagemyer had five points, eight rebounds, five blocks and three assists.

North Baltimore (3-0) jumpd ahead 13-8 in the first quarter, led 21-10 at the half, and put it in the books with an 18-11 edge in the fourth quarter.

LIMA — Lima Bath opened things up with a 12-5 run in the second quarter and the unbeaten Wildcats rolled to their sixth straight win, beating McComb 61-35 on Monday in nonleague girls basketball action.

Overall balance was a trademark of Bath’s win as the Wildcats had five players in double figures. Abby Dackin and Madelyn Renner scored 11 points each, while Chandler Clark, Ruby Bolon and Esther Bolon all tossed in 10. Clark completed her double-double by grabbing 11 rebounds as well.

Olivia Miehls led McComb (2-3) with 11 points. Malorie Schroeder had seven points and pulled down five rebounds for the Panthers.

LIMA — A slight edge in every quarter added up in the end as Lima Perry went ahead early and never looked back in posting a 46-34 nonleague win over Pandora-Gilboa on Monday.

Perry (3-2) led 13-7 after the first quarter and gradually pulled away.

Lacie Fenstermaked led P-G (0-5) with an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double. Alexis Augsburger had a team-high 12 points for the Rockets.

Trojan swimmers win

Findlay High’s boys and girls swim teams splashed their way to impressive wins on Monday, the boys beating Sylvania Southview 151-44 and the FHS girl topping the Cougars 121-85.

Glenwood wrestlers third

UPPER SANDUSKY — Tyler Jenkins, Brayden Brock and Logan Trinko won individual titles and Jeremiah Johnson and Mauricio Lopez-Leal finished second in their weight classes to lead Glenwood to a third-place overall showing in the East of Chicago Invitational middle school wrestling tournament.

Daniel Solomon placed third and Isaac Tuiloma and Quentin Romero were fourth in the 11-team tournament.
