Statewide-eligibility systems for Medicaid, food assistance and cash assistance, handled by Hancock County Job and Family Services, will be unavailable Aug. 23, 24 and 27 for computer system updates.

The agency will be open, but staff will be limited to research information and will be unable to issue public assistance benefits. The call center will be closed during the system outage.

Customers who visit the agency will be able to file paper applications and submit documents to be processed as soon as the system becomes available.

The agency will be prepared to handle customers’ needs in the week following the outage.

The upgrade is being done in all 88 counties.
